Can I get my residential and business alarm permits through the Police Department?

1.    There will no longer be a registration or renewal fee for burglar or fire alarms within the city limits of DeLand.
2.    No stickers will be required to be displayed in locations with alarm systems.
3.    Both the Police and Fire Departments will continue tracking false alarms at locations with alarm systems. They will also be tracking when an occupant fails to appear to reset an alarm within 1 hour. Each department will continue to bill the occupant once the 4th false alarm is responded to within the fiscal year, or when an occupant fails to appear to reset the system within 1 hour of notification.


Pursuant to Section 2B-4 & 2B-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of DeLand, regarding police and fire false alarm service charges, fees shall be assessed as follows:


Police & Fire Fees

1st False Alarm Fee No Charge 5th False Alarm Fee $100.00
2nd False Alarm Fee No Charge 6th and subsequent False Alarm Fee $200.00
3rd False Alarm Fee No Charge Failure to Appear to reset Alarm Fee Within one hour. $ 50.00
4th False Alarm Fee $ 50.00
