The Volusia County Health Department provides a sharps program for users of insulin and other injectable medications.
Residents may drop off needles and other diabetic testing strips in approved sharps containers without charge at the following Volusia County Health Department Environmental Health Offices:
Daytona Beach: 1845 Holsonback Drive
Deland: 121 W. Rich Ave
New Smyrna Beach: 717 Canal St
Deltona: 3151 Howland Blvd.
Sharps containers can be purchased in the Environmental Health Offices. The cost is $3.00 to $5.00 depending on size of the container.
